In this reading entry I will be conducting a character analysis of Odysseus. According to Homer, Odysseus is very smart. In book 1, it says “There is no mortal half so wise; no mortal gave so much to the lords of open sky.” This demonstrates that he is very smart and positively strong as well. (1:90) The character interacts with other in many ways. He is the king of Ithaca. this means that he had a good relationship with others and with the gods. The character significance to the main event is that he is the king who is sent to another place out of his house and land, when he tries to return it’s impossible. The god of the water makes it impossible for him to return. He finally returns home after 12 years and when he does, he is recognized first by his dog. He tries to build his character again.
