How are dreams used in the narrative?
The four-reading entry is very interesting for me because I always question my own dreams. This week assignment I had to read KJB: Matthew; Chapters 1 to 8. In these chapters, we can see how dreams are being used to warn and give people revelation. Dreams are also being used to help people when they don’t know what to do or when they feel lost. In the KJB, St. Matthew, chapter 2 it says, “But when Herod was dead of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child’s life.” This demonstrates the angel is guiding them and letting him know what he should do, he is guiding them through the right path. Additionally, in chapter 2 it says, “And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.” This also demonstrates that dreams are being used to protect and prevent or aware people of things that are going to happen. I believe that this is true, because sometimes I hear peoples dream of something that happened to them and in a few weeks, it happens in real life.
